The readers are wired up with the EIB twisted pair cables. The door locks can be wired directly the reader, with the use of a corresponding AC or DC auxiliary power supply to operate the lock. Once the readers are connected to the KNX, the actual programming of the system only requires a short series of actions.

For a minimal installation, only a PC and an KNX/IP gateway are required to set up the system. They can be removed once the programming is finished since the readers work autonomously. The KNX/IP gateway can be a ComBridge NCI, MCG, WCI or a different KNXnet/IP Router.

If alarm messages for denied access are to be captured or if time management is to be implemented, then a server PC is necessary.

Access cards can be emitted on the server PC or on any other PC connected to the server PC and equipped with the Axesso card writer and a web browser.

The server PC can be used in parallel for ComBridge Studio visualisation purposes. The menu structure can be totally integrated into an overall menu both for access control and building management. The user name and password determine which menus can be operated by the user.
